“Sports Illustrated has applauded Mark’s work. More importantly, Mark’s photos are achieving heirloom status in hundreds of Mississippi homes.”

Life has a way of taking you in the direction where your heart lies. You might describe it as a calling fueled by a passion for something. It drove me to put everything I had into becoming a professional photographer. My career began as a sports photographer and has transitioned to portraits, documentary, and fine art photography. For nearly 30 years, I have been documenting the world around me through the lens of a camera. I have been able to do the one thing that I love doing more than anything else.

Why is photography so important to me? I have always believed in the power of a photograph to change the world. Sarah Leen said it best.

"Images can keep the memory of a loved one alive, hold a moment in history for future generations, be a witness to tragedy or joy. They can also change behavior, stimulate understanding and create a sense of urgency that will move people to action. Photography is the universal language that speaks to the heart."
